Santos vence o Vitória e fica mais perto do G6 no Brasileirão

Santos did not shine but beat Victoria 1-0 on Friday night in Salvador and was closer to entering the G-6 qualifying zone for the Libertadores of America in 2019. The goal was scored by Carlos Sánchez, at eight minutes.

With three points in Bahia, Peixe is now seventh, with 39 points, six behind Atletico-MG. Vitória is 17th, with 29 points and the relegation zone.

After a succession of fish crossings between minutes 20 and 23, the Bahians almost equalized. At 25, Alison diverted back cross and goalkeeper Vanderlei made a great save. As a result, Lucas Fernandes lined up and was handled providentially by Diego Pituca at the time of finishing.

After 36 minutes, Mauricio Cordeiro left Diego Pituca’s arm and was sent off. Nevertheless, Vitória did not give up the attack and sought the goal to the end – without success. The Saints, even without inspiration, secured the three points to
